Keith Cromwell is a dynamic force in leadership coaching, storytelling, and theatrical innovation, blending his unmatched experience in the performing arts with a passion for cultivating leadership and driving transformation. As the former Executive Director of Red Mountain Theatre, Keith brought 25 years of global directing and performing expertise to Birmingham in 2003, elevating the organization to one of Alabama’s top 10 arts institutions. Under his leadership, Red Mountain Theatre grew year after year, culminating in a $30 million Arts Campus spanning an entire city block in Birmingham’s rapidly expanding Parkside District.
Beyond Birmingham, Keith has earned national recognition as a Tony-winning producer, contributing to Broadway hits like The Bridges of Madison County, Once on This Island, Moulin Rouge, New York New York, and Back to the Future. A member of esteemed organizations such as Actors’ Equity Association and The Broadway League, Keith has also served as Development Chair on the board of the National Alliance for Musical Theatre, championing new musicals and artistic innovation.
Keith’s impact extends beyond the arts, as he’s become a sought-after coach and mentor for executives, entrepreneurs, and creatives. Through Cromwell Consulting, he empowers leaders to refine their messaging, strengthen their leadership DNA, and navigate challenges with confidence. His coaching has transformed industries by blending the art of storytelling with actionable strategy, helping clients raise capital, inspire teams, and build meaningful connections.
Keith’s dedication to Birmingham’s renaissance is evident through his work with organizations like the Birmingham Business Resource Center, Techstars, EDPA Launchpad, and Innovation Depot, where he’s coached the city’s rising entrepreneurial leaders. A graduate of Leadership Birmingham and Leadership Alabama, Keith was also honored with the NCCJ Brotherhood Award for his efforts to unify and uplift the community.
